AVI Norwich  offer our customers a fully integrated and seamless dash cam installation in and around Norfolk. Our mobile install engineers have years of experience fitting vehicle cameras to all makes and models of vehicles from cars to HGVs. We're also mobile so we come to you at a time and place that's convenient to you, either at home or at work. We cover all of Norfolk and carry out installations  Monday to Friday.

For a professional car camera installation you will need a hardwire kit which can be purchased at the same time as your camera or we can supply one when we come to do the installation. These are included in our dash cam installation price.

Once your cameras are installed you will only see the camera itself with no more wires and clutter on display. All power wiring will be taken from fuse box, and cables routed safely behind airbags (many DIY installers don't realise the danger in routing cables across airbags in 'A' pillars). If you also have a rear camera fitted by us we will route wiring through the rubber grommets in tailgate opening to completely conceal the cables making it very neat and tidy. We can usually get to installations in Norwich next day or sometimes even same day. please use enquiry form below or call us on 07788 584586.

A dash cam, short for dashboard camera, is a compact video camera that is typically mounted on the dashboard or windshield of a vehicle to record the road ahead. It continuously captures video footage while you are driving and can be a valuable tool for various purposes.

Here are some key features and benefits of dash cams:

  1. Accident Documentation: One of the primary purposes of a dash cam is to provide evidence in case of an accident or collision. The recorded video footage can serve as unbiased proof of what happened during an incident, which can be useful for insurance claims or legal proceedings.

  2. Insurance Claims: Dash cam footage can help expedite the claims process with insurance companies. It provides a visual record of the events leading up to an accident and can help determine fault more accurately.

  3. Prevention of Fraudulent Claims: In some situations, dishonest individuals may attempt to stage accidents or make fraudulent insurance claims. A dash cam can help protect you from such situations by providing solid evidence of the actual events.

  4. Personal Security: Dash cams can also be used as a security measure to deter vandalism or theft. They can record any suspicious activity around your vehicle, both while parked and in motion.

  5. Monitoring Driver Behavior: Some advanced dash cams come with additional features like GPS tracking and sensors to monitor driver behavior. These can provide insights into your driving habits, such as speed, acceleration, and braking patterns, which can be useful for self-assessment and improving driving skills.

  6. Capturing Memorable Road Trips: On a more lighthearted note, a dash cam can also be used to record scenic road trips or memorable moments during your travels. It allows you to capture beautiful landscapes, unique events, or unexpected encounters while on the road.

Dash cams vary in terms of video resolution, viewing angle, storage capacity, and additional features. Some models have built-in screens, while others rely on smartphone apps for configuration and video playback. It's important to research and choose a dash cam that meets your specific needs and preferences.

Remember to familiarize yourself with local laws and regulations regarding dash cams and privacy concerns in your region before using one.
